Frequently Asked Questions

How do quantity discount tiers work?
Buyers unlock deeper discounts at higher quantities: e.g., 5% at 10+, 10% at 50+, 15% at 100+. The earned tier applies to the whole order (or marginally, per your policy) to reward bigger baskets.
Should tier discounts apply to the full order or marginally?
Full-order tiers are simpler and more motivating; marginal tiers (discount only on units above the break) protect margin better. State the method on every quote — buyers assume full-order.
How do I set tier breakpoints?
Place breaks near natural order sizes (10, 50, 100, 500) and just above your median order so typical buyers stretch one tier up. Keep 3-4 tiers; more tiers confuse more than they motivate.
What margin should each tier keep?
Hold at least 20-25% margin at the deepest tier after all variable costs. If Tier 3 margin falls below 15%, raise breakpoints or trim the discount before publishing.
Can quantity tiers combine with coupons?
Do not allow it by default: tier + coupon stacks silently. Configure your cart so quantity breaks and promo codes are mutually exclusive unless finance approves the combined depth.
